About REVIVED

I began performing my own songs in high school in Massapequa, NY in the 1970s, and continued doing so on the coffeehouse circuit during my college years in Buffalo, NY.

After years of working full-time jobs in New York City and the rigors and expenses of an indie singer-songwriter’s life, I stopped singing in public for many years after a few notable concerts in the early 2000s.

Those last shows in NY were the 2001 performance of my “Bodies Of Water” at Brooklyn Art Museum as the finale of a benefit for the Brooklyn Arts Exchange, with 19 amazing musicians accompanying me (soon to appear on my YouTube channel), and a 11/10/21 concert with Rob Meador and Tom McGrath at Fez under Time Cafe. I thought at the time, how will I ever top those two musical experiences?

I’d released two CDs and also toured with and managed promotion for two groups I’d formed: Show & Tell (with Melinda DiMaio, Tom McCormack, and Zenobia) and Chosen Family (with Dan Martin and Robin Burdulis). You may be hearing some of those performances another time.

I moved back to Provincetown, MA in late 2017 from Manhattan with the goal of finally giving my music its due. I continue to write songs, and sing in public again.

While sorting through my musical archives to digitize them, I learned from Dan Martin and Michael Biello about their extensive musical archives with many of my performances. Dan and I then began work on REVIVED in 2022.

Gratitude and appreciations to:

• Dan Martin & Michael Biello, founders of NYC’s Outmusic collective in the 1980s, whose support, many artistic talents, and love inspired the reblossoming of my songwriting and performing. Their ongoing encouragement, and Michael’s videotapes of many of my performances, led to the creation of REVIVED.

• Special thanks to Dan Martin for his expert production, and to Jon Gordon for his as-always wonderful mastering skills.

• Rob Meador and Tom McGrath, whose superb musicianship grace many songs here. They coaxed out a new way of singing for me during our 2003 rehearsals for concerts at that time—it was a true pleasure to play with you both, gentlemen!

• Matty Dread at WOMR, for his support and kind digitizing some of my old cassette tapes of songs included in this project.

• My audiences, for their many kindnesses over the years.

• Friends, colleagues, and fellow musicians who gave their time, creative energies, and invaluable suggestions for my music, this website, and this new chapter of Know More Secrets. You’ll be hearing more in days to come!

Special thanks to:
